By using TipOff, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Profile Information:

Basketball skill level
Preferred positions
ELO rating (generated by the system)
Win/loss statistics
Game history

User-Generated Content:

Messages sent to other players
Game scores and statistics
Reports submitted about other players
Feedback and bug reports

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location Data:

Your approximate location (city/region) to show nearby courts and games
Precise location (only when you grant permission) for accurate court mapping
Location is collected only when the App is in use

Device Information:

Device type and model
Operating system version
Unique device identifiers
App version

Usage Data:

Games played
Features used
Time spent in the App
Crash reports and performance data
Push notification interactions

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide the Service: Enable you to find games, connect with players, track your stats, and use all features of the App
Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience
Communicate: Send game notifications, friend requests, and important updates about the service
Safety & Moderation: Monitor for inappropriate behavior, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain a safe community
Support: Respond to your questions, feedback, and bug reports

We DO NOT sell your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information in these limited circumstances:

With Other Users: Your username, profile photo, stats, and game history are visible to other players
Service Providers: We use Supabase for backend services and data storage
Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights and safety
With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt
All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Database access is restricted and authenticated

Active Accounts: We retain your data while your account is active
Deleted Accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion

7. Children's Privacy

TipOff is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Location Data

We use your location to:

Show nearby basketball courts
Display games in your area
Help you find players nearby

You can control location permissions in your device settings. Denying location access will limit some features but won't prevent you from using the App.

9. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for:

Game invitations
Friend requests
Game reminders
Messages from other players

You can disable notifications in Settings → Notifications or in your device settings.

10. Third-Party Services

We use these third-party services:

Supabase: Backend database and authentication
Google Maps: Court location mapping
Expo: App development platform
Sentry: Error monitoring and crash reporting

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control their practices.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via:

In-app notification
Email to your registered address
Updated "Last Modified" date at the top of this policy

12. International Users

TipOff is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
